Titan (vehicle)

The Titan is a concept vehicle, modelled on the best-selling LDV Convoy double cab model. It was created by a team of apprentices at LDV to prove that LDV (Leyland Daf Vans) could make vehicles that look smart as well as being functional.

Cab

On the inside the Titan is all blue leather and checkerplate, with five individual leather seats rather than the usual Convoy bench seats and plastic dash.

Paintwork

On the outside the Titan is more impressive; with a multi-tone ChromaFlair paintjob that can look purple, blue, turquoise, red, gold or several different combinations of these colours depending on which angle you look at it from and how the sun is shining on the paint.

Loadbed

The bed of the truck is lined with checkerplate to match the floor inside the cab and, rather than the usual folding sides of the Convoy, the Titan has a row of marine-style lockers on each side - facing inwards. Between these is a jet-ski rack and in front of that stands the light bar that holds the two independent swivelling spotlights that can face to the front, back, left or right of the vehicle. The standard tailgate has been replaced with a curved chrome bar that slots into brackets at the rear of the truck.

Engine

The engine runs on petrol or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and is tucked away beneath the usual Convoy bonnet; though this one is painted in chromaflare and decorated with a chrome nudge bar, upon which are mounted two more spotlights and the owner's private number plate.

Roofbox

On the roof sits a matching roofbox, which adds yet another special touch to the Titan - helping it look so much different from the average truck.
